Seriously, how can anyone hate Beautiful Day?

I'm extremely picky about a song feeling "full" (as someone mentioned it doesn't have the 'wow' factor). I think Beautiful Day is composed well enough to feel like the chorus is the chorus, the verses are the verses and so on. I think it feels whole and complete and if it didn't, I probably wouldn't like it. But I'm glad some like it at least. I feel like it has more of a "wow" factor than most of the Love Songs album (although I DO LOVE THIS ALBUM minus Love song, Virgin Road and maybe Thank U - used to like Thank U when it came out but it's too repetitive and her voice is just forced cutesy in this one and not good cutesy like in HONEY).

It's grown on me to the point that I can tolerate it if I can't change the track. LOL.

That cutesy voice drives me crazy in her newer albums. After I am... or RAINBOW (where I feel her voice started really maturing and getting deeper), I just find her cutesy voice to be forced and downright annoying. Mostly because I know her voice doesn't sound like that anymore (example, when she sings Evolution these days she'll switch between her cutesy and mature voice), so I feel she's trying to make herself sound like she used to when she was in her "prime." Just MHO.

But other than that, the lyrics drive me crazy and the Engrish is SO BAD I just want to shoot myself in the face every time I hear, "you know, what's a beautiful day!"

So there you have it.

^ you know, I never realized she did that with her voice. But you ate totally right! Lol. I love her mature voice much better then the cuties thing she does. But I do happen to like Thank U and the cuteness!

wow, I love Beautiful day, and secret and VG and part of me...
and any song mentioned here. I realized people at AHS adore songs I dont find
quite awsome. for example microphone on RNRC was like a bomb here, everyone loved it,
while everyone ignored meaning of love. microphone is ok, but next to meaning of love its just a yelling song lol. meaning of love is such a tender lovely song <3

Omg, how opinions can differ. Those two songs are very boring to me and I feel are just very weak compositions. Beautiful Day though, the composition just flows so nicely

I personally love cutesy songs like Honey, glitter and Thank you (they are all more or less the same song anyhow) yet somehow I really don't like Replace (goes on too long) Angel song (I find it irritating for some reason) but my issue with Beautiful day is that every time she gets to the chorus I have a mental face palm.

I don't know how people got to talking about Meaning of love but I CANT STAND that song. I find it weak and every time she gets to the chorus I start singing 'Arigatou te iitakatta"...it drives me crazy.

Well... that is probably more Sweetbox's fault for having the chorus be so repetitive to begin with.

Yeah... I think Ayu's version of all of the Sweetbox songs are 10000x better than the originals (Jade's vocals + cheesy lyrics are an immediately turn off for me), but I find "Beautiful Day" obnoxious no matter which way you turn it. lol

oh, well. Everyone has that one song they can't stand. I guess I should be thankful that, for me, Ayu only has three stinkers in 13 years of music.

I agree, I love beautiful day and it's one of my favorite Ayu songs. It reminds me of a sunny day and puts me in a good mood. I like the intro melody ^^
