They're very touching, I love them so much. I've never cried before while reading her lyrics, but surprisingly now I have. The lyrics made me think of a very special person that I don't want to leave me.

i think the word "trifles" is VERY uncommon in everyday-english. something similar to "trivial things" would be more mainstream, in my opinion. love your translations masa

I have to disagree, I think they're quite positive. She expresses optimism that she will see her again, and says that she will always be in her heart, even though she is gone (for now).

I think this is about the important person that passed away in 2007. [Many people believe it to be Natsuki, the girl mentioned in all SPECIAL THANKS sections since ASFXX.]

I know Who... was about her Grandmother, I didn't know about this Natsuki girl though so I just assumed it was possibly about her Grandmother. If this Natsuki girl was close to her though, then it very well could be her. I didn't say I know definitely anyways.

trifles is fine, and is a perfectly common word among people who speak english well, namely, english people, ie: me.



"we unlinked hands" is fine too....but it depends on the meaning of the japanese original.

"we unlinked hands and walked", implies a seperation and then going on alone
"we walked without holding hands", implies that they walked without holding hands....nothing more....and sounds like a child's sentence. put that one back too.

please listen to me, I am English, English was one of my best Subjects at school, and I am an English teacher, and a writer.

I got my own lyrics site, and I use your translations masa, but I do change the odd word sometimes....I'd just prefer that everyone who reads a translation of ayu's lyrics gets the best version possible.
