I think Japanese fans are more reserved in general and the Western ones are too few lol It would be so cool if fans all over the world would do that and show her.

Iw as watching Crystal Kay's "Forever" PV and I noticed the place looked familiar. it's where Koda Kumi filmed the PV for HOTEL.

(it's probably common knowledge but maybe I missed it or forgot about it).

I need a collab between these powerful women!

I'd looooooove Kuu + CKay, they could serve a 2 a-sided single with a dance song + a soft ballad, both styles would fit them so well.

The jacket is okay, nothing outstanding but it's a nice design. Just misread it as "queen of line" but that may be cause of the small picture lol

This is the goodie that's coming with the FC ticket for the tour.
The 2nd one - they decided to change the colour from purple to light yellow.
They revealed with it tho that we'll get more goodies fitting to this jacket.

Kuu now has over 500k monthly listeners on Spotify!
And puff PV is around 300k views already, keeping its pace.
k, PV is at 320k right now and again at 520k and those are on avex' youtube with far more reach (5 million+ followers).

The FC ticket round is not open for overseas fans.
Probably going to be the same with the December dates later unless the situation is going to get a lot better worldwide.
Another pre-sale round over her official site starts end of the month btw.

I was thinking about a tribute album for Kuu, but I only think in three singers lol

Miliyah Kato: TABOO (because she's a LGTB ally) / Aenaku Naru Kurai Nara

JASMINE: No Man's Land

AI: Ningyo Hime (lol I don't now why, maybe because her version of "Tsumi to Batsu") / Ai no Uta

Any thoughts? What would be your proposed artists and songs?

^ I could see EXILE or just ATSUSHI cover any Kuu ballads cos EXILE do have some really great ballads in their discography

LiSA would also be a good fit to cover Kuu's material in a tribute album if it ever materialised

I could also see misono hoping onto this.

I'm not sure if I like how they made this dance ver for puff, why is it showing her dying (?) her hair? lol And while the original video didn't look cheap to me, I hate the fonts and filters they used for this one, felt like a downgrade... but if it helps her get more views and likes I'm not mad

^ The effects are very tacky, for sure. haha If the song had kinda of a 80s style it would fit better, but it's not the case.

I'm not a huge fan of tribute albums, but I guess it could be something like this (some names already did covers of her, so they could re-use it)

Not sure if people care about this but anyway. I'm planning on upscaling some of her DVD only concerts, using the AI upscale method. It takes a quite a long time, so I might not even finish a whole concert at all, but anyway, just letting people know that this is possible. This is the result for AND Tour:

Toshinori Yonekura also did a cover of "Suki de, Suki de, Suki de" in 2015 and I discovered it recently - it's so nice! would love to hear him do another take on one of her ballads.

You said Utada, but yes, I think everyone have memories with her songs (specially with First Love), and that was something that almost everyone in the tribute mentioned (Miliyah said something like "In my teenage years she was always with me") and I don't know if that applies to Kuu.

LiSA is her fan, for example, and sure she has a lot of good Memories and has her eyes and what she does and goes to her shows, FAKY too. But I don't know about others singers.

For me, Koda Kumi is THE QUEEN, but I want to know if other big artists follow her and think "I would like to record this song that brings me so many happy feelings and share it with my fans!" And then make a cover/tribute album with other 12/13 singers that feel the same.

I hope my comment have sense because I don't speak english so well and I don't want to be misunderstood.

Kuu can also choose to self cover & re-record some of her old songs , not necessary a tribute album where other artistes covers her material

YUI did that years ago with her SHE LOVES YOU tribute album but she only re-recorded CHE.R.RY

I don't think it would be a problem for Kuu having one.
Guess it's more of a question how such tribute albums come to life.
And if the owner of the songs/the artist allows it.

I understand what you're saying. It's like questioning if she had enough impact in the industry, and if you see some other artists which would say that Kumi inspired them to be singers or artists in general.

Usually those albums are for artist who caused an impact, you have Seiko Matsuda, Utada Hikaru, TRF, globe, Shiina Ringo, hide, DREAMS COME TRUE, Hibari Misora, etc. At the same point not having one doesn't mean that you didn't impact, Ayumi, Namie, Akina Nakamori, B'z, Hiromi Go, to name a few doesn't have a tribute album.

One of the reasons these albums are made is that you, as a fan of a particular singer, can give a chance to somebody else's discography. For example: I don't know DCT discography, but because Kumi did IT'S SO DELICIOUS it made me want to listen to the whole album and the original versions as well, so a win-win situation.

By the fact that some singers already did cover of her songs, even Akina which Kumi loves her, I believe a tribute album could happen at some point. It also means that her discography isn't that "closed", I believe some singers don't even allow other singers to cover them songs (like GOLDFINGER'99, Kumi is the only singer that Hiromi go allowed to cover the song).

As for artist that would say that Kumi inspired them, you have LiSA, Aoi Shouta, Minzy from 2NE1, some girls from FAKY. This is quite hard to know if you don't connect with the current acts.

^Namie probably just did not allow her songs to be used tho. SWEET 19 BLUES is one of the most covered songs alongside CAN YOU CELEBRATE which remains the highest selling female solo single.

A tribute album is in most cases a label stunt and nothing more. So if avex does not want to, it will probably not happen.
