AT08 Report - 6/29
This concert was SO FREAKIN' AMAZING.
So with the help of my Japanese friend, Raye and I got to Yoyogi stadium around 12:15, 12:30-ish. There wasn't really any line for the goods, so we immediately got some goods. (It sucks they were sold out of the hoodies and the AT07 books. ;___ ![]() So we ended up getting back to Yoyogi around 3-ish, and Raye and I said good-bye to everyone, and then we looked at the fake merch and bought some stuff. (I bought this 08-09 calendar sheet thing and a towel), and then it was already around 3:30-ish, so we headed on inside. It took about 15 minutes to really get inside (obviously, there was a lot of people there), and they checked our tickets and bags and such, and I headed off to my seat. I sat in the B7 section, and I had a really good view of the stage. (Of course, everyone on the stage seemed really small.) reBIRTH - This was basically a montage of Ayu's CD releases since 1998 all the way up to Mirrorcle World. The Judgement Day - Honestly, I don't remember too much of the video, but I do remember a pirate ship flying in the sky. (I am not sure if Ayu was in it...she probably was, though.) The dancers came out with flags that had A's on them, and they were dancing around and left when the song was over. talkin' 2 myself - Ayu slowly came up with fog around her. She looked at everyone for a second before singing the first two lines of t2m (acapella), and then jumped into the rest of the song, with the dancers coming back out and such. is this LOVE? - I don't think the dancers were there for that one, but I know Peco and Princess came up beside Ayu and they did their little jam. Interlude - As the song started, the red curtains dropped, revealing a white curtain (which would turn pink and have hearts and such move across it as DoY and FH were being performed). This one sounded like "STEP you". Ayu looked at the camera, smiled and waved, and then her girl dancers were introduced (they were wearing pink schoolgirl outfits and pink afro-wigs), and then they were sitting around and laughing before looking off into the distance, shocked, and then a shot of the guys showed up, and then they were introduced, and they did this little dance thing before the girls pushed the guys onto the ground. Depend on You - ADORABLE. Ayu had on her cute, high voice, and she actually sang with that for the whole song. It was a cute little thing, with the boys using basketballs as props, and the girls kinda sitting around for a lot of the time. Go-mi was focused on a bit, with him losing his glasses and then having a fake microphone. (He thought he was singing, and Ayu was motioning at him like, "I'm the one singing!!!...oh well!" Fly High - Just like all the other performances of this song, really. It was still a really fun performance, though. I will mention that, remember during the beginning of the tour, when her stomach was bare? Well, she now has a white shirt under the pink cardigan and such. Interlude - This video was DEFINITELY this year's "taskinst". It was honestly like a mini movie. ^^ Ayu was hiding from these people (two of her girl dancers =P) who had once captured her (and she still had bruises from it), and they actually get into the room she's in, but she's behind the door and they don't see her. They leave, and then Ayu drops the key she's holding, but it doesn't make any noise. Then we see this cat, and it drops this glass testing tube, which shatters on the ground, and the two girls hear that and find Ayu and capture her. (don't) leave me alone - Her four dancers come back out, and then Ayu is lifted up on this rotating portion of her stage. During the first verse and chorus, she's on that, and she is being rotated around, but then she gets off and has this fight of a sort with the dancers for the rest of the song. I read that someone thought she lip-singing during the song...no. Or, at least, she didn't during this performance, or not during the whole song. It definitely sounded like she was singing during this song. decision - It was an okay performance. I don't remember too much about this one either, but I think her guy dancers came out? my name's WOMEN - The screen behind them showed a chandelier, which changed colors and got brighter throughout the song. Her girl dancers came out, and they did this dancing with chairs and such. Marionette (prelude) - I think Ayu filmed this right before she got her extensions, or she took them out to do this. She's sitting down and then finds one of her dolls from her marionette-carousel-thing, and then kinda looks at it and puts it back in. She stares at it, and then they start to come to life. Marionette - Ayu is definitely wearing a short wig for this performance. Her and her dancers are in doll-like positions (at the end of the catwalk), and then she starts singing. (Note - she did not lip-sing this one, either.) A carousel-esque set then rose from beneath them to make it seem like they were actually in that thing. There was a video after this, where Ayu looks up, and all the guys are staring down at her, laughing and such. Also, the white curtains then drop, revealing the rest of the set, which I think resembles a small city. Interlude - Another one, and yes, this is another Ayu/Shuya video. =P She's longing for him at the top of the stairs, and he's coming up (boy did he look kinda ugly XD), and then the stairs underneath him crumble and he falls, which Ayu is horrified by and starts to cry. Shuya comes out on the stage, and he sees her up there and then leaves right before she gets on. HANABI - A beautiful performance, which I'm sure had lots of people in the audience crying (including the girl next to me). Shuya comes on stage, and they are then reunited. ^^ The dress she is wearing is beautiful (and she's wearing another longer wig with a crown on it), and Shuya's wearing this trenchcoat. XD AND you can see her tattoo during this performance. It isn't covered up by hair or anything. (And, yes, it's the one her and Tomoya got.) Well, it's covered up when she wasn't bent over, anyway. End Roll - Lots of people in the audience were either surprised or really happy to hear this song, because there was this kind of "!!!" noise that could be heard. By that point, I was crying... it was really beautiful, haha. This was definitely another beautiful performance. SURREAL / evolution / SURREAL- It started off like it normally starts off, with Ayu standing there in the dark, and then they get into the song, and then 3/4 through, they start singing evolution. Mirrorcle World - I must admit, I was pretty darn excited about this song. So, everyone leaves the stage, and then there was a small video played where she walks up the ship and kinda looks out. The screen goes dark and this sheet covers the stage, and it has a huge "A" over it. The intro for Mirrorcle World plays, and then when it switches from slow to fast, the sheet falls and reveals the boat!...I'll admit, I expected the boat to be a lot bigger. Like, huge. It covers up, like...the majority of the back of the stage, but it wasn't all that big. There were also lights behind it, I guess to make it seem like a starry night. She stays on the ship for the majority of the time, and then she comes down during that slow part (right before the "yeah"'s and "whoa"'s.) Encore There was a small intermission before the encore started (as usual), but right before the A's came up, this one dude behind me would clap a few times before yelling "Ayu", and then after doing that a few times, he clapped and yelled "Yo-chan", and he did that a few times and then he would switch. Of course, that died down once everyone just said "Ayu". (I think only people in my area heard him, because Raye was on the ground and couldn't hear him, but I thought he was pretty loud.) During the A's, it showed a map with the locations of this year's tour, and then the A's would do different things, and then they showed her Asia locations (HK, Taiwain, and Shangai). Dearest - Ayu came out, and then talked a little bit before signing Dearest. (I noticed that in other concerts, she would sit down and have Peco and Princess near her, but she stood up by herself during this and Voyage.) Voyage - Again, she just stood there and sang. MC - I read another report from 6/29, and apparently, she guessed (and guessed right) about "Who..." being the song of the night. (I was thinking about that, and I was pretty sure that's what she was going to sing.) And then NEVER EVER played, signaling it was the time for the "Ask Ayu a Question!" portion to start, and then Yo-chan would sing the next part, and they did that...I think three times, haha. I wasn't sure what was being asked (my Japanese sucks >___<), but those were some serious-ish questions. Haha. But, yeah, I think it was after or during the AAaQ part that she sang "Who..." and she sang it so wonderfully. =) My All dance teaching - Raye and I practiced the dance on the plane, haha. So Jin came down, and it seriously freaked Ayu out. (There was a part of the curtain that just hung down, and I don't think Ayu knew what was going on!) He came down, and he admitted he was really freaked out, haha. So he taught us the dance, and Ayu inserted cute little "Jin!"'s during some of the parts. Before the show, we were given a sheet, that during the MC, Jin would come out and teach us the dance, and when Ayu would say "Se no", we were to say "arigatou Jin!"...but I didn't know that 'til after the show. D= Well, I figured it out then, but still.) independent - Of course, everyone was excited about independent, and everyone did the dance during the chorus. Boys&Girls - Same as usual - Ayu would sing parts, and we'd sing parts back. =D MY ALL - Ayu...didn't seem like she cried during the performance. (Apparently she did, but maybe she didn't cry and, like, break down like she does usually.) I think she was just so proud of the Japan leg of the tour, and she could feel everyone's emotions in the room, and was just...happy. And then came the end of the concert. She ran around, thanking everyone, and then she put her mic down and signaled for everyone to be quiet. I yelled out "Ayu, I love you!" during one quiet part about...10 seconds before she yelled "arigatou goziamasu!" (I heard that it takes forever for people to get quiet sometimes...I don't think it took her too long last night, maybe just 30 seconds or so?) It was really an amazing performance, and I'm glad I could finally see her live. I don't think she really had any kind of vocal problems during the performance (I even liked t2m, and I never really liked her singing that live sometimes!) I know most of what I said has already been said, but some stuff wasn't...and I know this was kinda long, haha, oh well. =P

Nice report!!
But how early do her concerts start that the goodies were sold out at 12:30 PM and you went inside at 3:30 PM? O___o I'm used to concerts around 8:30 PM. Also what's a good time to arrive to still be able to buy all goodies? Edit: Oh and what does "se no" mean? o.O Last edited by Melrose; 30th June 2008 at 06:01 PM. |

I love to read reports like these, I sure envy you all.
![]() せーの means like "ready (go!)". To say something together or move something together. In this case Ayu wants the audience to yell out "arigatou Jin!". EDIT: Lanz16 beat me too it. |
