alterna´s performance in arena tour 2006!

I was wondering about this performance, since I think it was so great and the only time she has sung alterna live (which is a pity, because I think she should do it more). So, what do you think of the performance, and why do you think she has never repeated it? It´s a kind of silly post, but I was wondering what the forum would think of it xDD

I really love the performance!
The ball was awesome! Everything was awesome. The video was also cool with all those Ayu's in a greenish dress.

Why she never repeated it? Maybe she thought it was only suitable for AT06 ~(miss)understood~.

its hard to describe it by words, because the performance is amazing

and i love that ayu, is really brave women, i didn't see any string at all attached to her and she did a lot of "circus" stuff there...

omg! i love alterna's performance!!! it's amazing! and i love how the little part with ayu falling into the water, and then alterna begins and ayu is like singing underwater..really the most amazing way to connect to the next song
and i wished ayu got out of the ball thingy, but i think her being trapped in there and singing is still amazing~ and her outfit was very...unique lol
i really wish that ayu would perform the song again...but alterna is one of those song that have to have an amazing performance to match the song, you can't just do some silly moves to it

I love her outfit in the performance. I have no idea the meaning of the zebra outfits and underwater ayus, but it was COOL.

I thought this performance was amazing, and so unique. The underwater effects, the dancers as fish on stilts, the cage/net she was in, the whole thing. She probably won't repeat it unless it's for a commemorative event like CDL 06-07 was, simply because the whole thing probably takes a lot of effort/time to set-up, and it's kind of iconic of AT06, I think, considering it was the booklet cover and all.

I love the alterna live!!! I wish she performed it more too but as we know ayu always saves certain songs to sing once and thats it (like HAPPY ENDING at AT05 and probably kiss o' kill at AT07)

Didn't ayu get stuck in the ball at one of the lives and she had to sing is this LOVE? and (miss)understood in it?? I wish they put that on the DVD lol

Haha..yes it would be quite funny. I imagine at the end of alterna, everything goes dark, the vid plays. Then it goes dark. And it stays dark. The audience is going all "ummmm ok?". Then the lights go up again (standard white lights because they haven't prepared) and Ayu's hanging in the alterna ball, the manager comes on stage to apologize and she starts singing (miss)understood from the ball! :> And then halfway she suddenly comes loose and almost falls down o_O Well that last part wouldnt be funny actually >_>

They had a tiny clip of it in the CDL06-07 countdown video.. but other than that, nothing really.

They showed a short clip of it in one of the concert dvds that was released after AT06.

It was the showstopper of AT06, and probably one of the top 5 fave performances of hers, and even though my top 5 list frequently changes since I keep watching her concerts over and over and grow new favorites, I am pretty sure this will be set in the top 5 always! or atleast for a really long time lol

I think ayu knows what kind of feedback she gets for her concerts, and which ones made a huge impact and which ones didnt. I think perhaps she waiting until she gets a grand new idea for the song until she makes a performance of it again. I mean after that AT06 performance, the standards have been set quite high for any future alterna performances and since its ayu, she always trying to raise the standards.

As of right now, I like to think of Ayu concerts as if they're in sort of different "waves"..

2000 - 2004: 1st wave
Contained a lot of the flying acts, Ayu being hung up from the ceiling, big dresses and so on... not much theatrics [though they were present in ct2000 and AT02..]

2005 - 2009(??): 2nd wave
AT05 completely changed her concert format up, with many acts from AT05 leaking into later shows, such as the platform performed ballads, random dancer dancing while she sings, fire + energetic songs, one or two "come-hither" sexy songs, one (or a few) showstopper act(s)... etc..

This leads me to believe that she may totally switch things up once again after creating some sort of "new" concert that she hasn't done before.. Though this could be something that I'm deluding myself into believing, but eh.

I never thought about it like that. I suppose you´re right ^^ you´re a very clever person!!! ^^ xDDD that opens a whole new world of posibilities to me LOL

Anyway, it´s obvious she had a harness on it, and also, she is not moving much, so it was quite easy for her not to fall and quite easy for her voice not to break or be breathy since she wasn´t moving much during the singing parts. But I loooooove so much alterna and she is so creative that I hope she comes out with another great idea for it soon xD

Yes, that performance was really cool. It was one of the best ones from the amazing tour that was ARENA TOUR 2006 A ~(miss)understood~. Everything from the intro video to the closing seconds was done beautifully. The only thing I would've like to see more of was the camera inside the cage, but I realize that due to its small size, the quality of most the footage it recorded must have not been deemed worthy of being released to the public.

That performance is amazing! Deff one of the best performances of that tour. Though it is a shame that she only sang alterna live that one time...but if she ever does sing it again I'm sure it will be just as awesome, if not better. But yea, alterna is one of my favorite songs on the m(u) albun, and that live performance of it made me love the song even more!
