I'm so sick of the donation related news... "Ayu donated ___" "Ayu didn't donate anything" etc. and the crap on other celebrities. The media and people need to get a life and stop reporting on it during this hard time for Japan.

I don't think that Ayu is happy with this information being put on a pedestal just for her image, I believe she truly cares about her country and people. People glamorize this donation bull ish so much but the truth is she's rich, she donated. while it makes her a giving person it doesn't put her inside of some kind of special bubble.

I donated only $10 (still sufficient for a person like this) just because I'm a student in high school. At least that because Ayu's a celebrity she donates quite a lot to support the victims of last week's earthquake. Maybe she can donate even more with the T-shirts on sale for the rest of the month as well as a possible charity concert...

I honestly think that because of Ayu's diva image, there would have been a backlash against her regardless of how much she donated and/or when she announced her donation.

that said, i think its crappy that donation amounts have to be released. its a private matter unless you choose otherwise.
