these are popularity charts of Oricon. They are based on how many people out of a certain amount would buy a release. They are not sales-expectations

No. More specifically, it is a poll of Oricon users as to what releases they are interested in. They don't ask whether they would buy it.

CDs are announced as to be released on a Wed, with most CD stores putting them on shelves on Tuesdays. In this case, many people assume then that the CDs would go on shelves on Monday then, which would mean an extra day. BUT, they could also just be saying that the release day is on that day for anniversary value.
