eeeh oh please she's always been super skinny, and her head and face are always bigger in curtain call's pv you can see how her features are overpowering, she's tiny!

and the angle, the shade, etc seems to be like she's really thin even though she is anyway

Naturally it do have alot to do with the shadows and angles. And I did say that I know that she has always been photoshoped. But what I complained about was the overall portrayal. Like how they twist her angles and shadows to make her look like that. Since I've been in this industry for quite some time now I have faced alot of girls, seeing models "fake" their bodies to make them thinner. Some of them even face cold facts like they have to loose about 10 cm around their hips while their bmi already is below 17. And how do you loose hips really if you already have no fat? Like, you need to saw through bone to do that. I'm just really happy that I have a very nice and healthy agency that take care of their models. Cos this kind of industry not nice.

Aaanywho, now. Since I have faced this so close and dealt with this with my beloved ones I get really angry by seeing this. Is it maybe me who's overreacting? Yes. Perhaps. I know Ayu don't aim to teach young girls into thinking that being thinner than healthy is fine. I'm more like ranting at the whole industry. But really, Ayu have been taking pictures that looks more "healthy" and "real" too me and sometimes not. I'm fully aware of that. This picture is not looking "real" to me. But that might just be me. But there is no reason to say that I jump to crazy conclusions, since I've been there. This is just how I think and feel when I see that picture. I get sad.

And the horse thing. I have been riding horses for 15 years and yes, I do get bothered when I see that her position on the horse is odd and the horse looks weird. I'm also annoyed on how bad they photoshoped her hair into the blue sky. That's not me crazy jumping into conclusions and get bent out of weirdest things. It's just me making a comment on a picture on why I don't like it. Happy that you guys do. But I'm simply not and while I'm expressing this and why perfectly fine there's no need to say that it's weird.

btw it seems to be that bea's up is helping to promote the album in the back cover, which should be a first, right? I don't think I've seen a front and back cover of bea's up with ayu + the album being promoted.

And to finish with the other thing, Japanese are generally VERY small, like even when I go to their festivals, I feel huge and I'm not even overweight I've seen girls thinner than this picture who are Japanese and they don't have eating disorders. You're just seeing it from another point of view, and you come from a different culture too, so I'm sure overseas fans will be seeing what they want to see.

And she looks happy, and healthy to me, she doesn't look like those western models who look sick AND thin as well

Some think different, but I also feel that this pic looks horrible.
The angle, the light, Ayu's small body - it just doesn't look appealling or beautiful at all to me.
And it's not even that's she's too thin or anything.
It's more ... unaesthetic to me.

It is Japan, but I would really like to know how the japanese readers think about it.

Well, I have lived in Japan for a year and worked as a model over there too so... I know all about how they look. In the end it's all about taste. This is not my cup of tea. Happy that it's yours though. I'm not here to make you change your mind. I'm just defending myself since I was having "weird conclusions".

Her shape is not weird, it's just the shadow over her tummy which emphasize its lines and makes us think that she just holds in her stomach to appear more thiner.
Other than that, I think this pic looks fine, but I'm not a fan of the hair-ribbon :/

Please don't think that anyone was singling out just you.

I give you fine praise for your views on the industry and modeling. I understand how that industry works as well, and I know how harsh it can be. Alternatively, some people might just have to make do with the fact that they just can't be models.

In Ayu's case, I don't see this really as an issue. I don't think Ayu looks too thin. She's a small, skinny person :/ How else is she supposed to look?

Is she supposed to forego taking pictures sideways just so all of these people will think she looks okay to be a role model for women and young girls?

I know you know your own views, but in this particular case about Ayu, you aren't alone. This whole issue of "taste" shouldn't even exist :/ People have different body types. That's really it.

This is Ayu's body today. I think, we should all embrace how beautiful she looks, rather than just criticizing her "you look too thin and distorted". Especially in a case where...it's the angle and shadowing

I guess they should have photoshopped the shadows out so that she looked more "average" to people. Or maybe, like in a lot of other cases, they should have used a different shot.
