My thoughts exactly...
..but as for the OP's question, I'm not sure exactly how they kept it a secret. I suppose Ayu was so busy, she was used to not seeing them around all the time? Mannie and Ayu never lived together, so I suppose it was easy for him to use his free time to have some photoshoots with Leslie.
