[12/4] ORICON "Secret" 1st Week Sales [See P.7 post 130]

Ouch, really low sales. Honestly didn't think she'd get any higher, though. I predicted that she'd be lucky to have this album hit 500,000 total. Too bad, because it's a good album. Her popularity has totally dropped.

Could the fact that the album was released as a Mu-mo download had something to do with lower sales?...

I can see the sales in the whole market in Japan are declining, but I expected something around 500k or even above it, since Secret sounds much better than (miss)understood... maybe it would have indeed sold more in the first week if there was another single before the album's release... on the other hand, she did promote JEWEL quite a lot...

If second week sales were to be the same as this week then I would be happy, but that's unlikely to happen.

Yes and No.

A lot of people could've DL from mu-mo and decided if they liked the songs, they would buy the album. But I guess they didn't like the songs so they didn't buy the album?

The music industry really hasn't been declining that much in relation to the past 3 years? It has stayed relatively the same.

i'm kinda disappointed, but i didn't expect record-breaking numbers in the first place. even so, they're still good numbers.

i'm very happy with this album whether it gets good or bad sales. :]

I'm not exactly disappointed, since I got my Secret today..

I'm just bleh. I don't really care/mind. :p I think I've gotten to the point of being an Ayu fan where nothing really matters except the music itself..

well considering (M)U sold 650K in two weeks, it probably sold around 400K in its first week, so Secret, when think about it, isn't really that far behind.

i'm actually quite pleased with the sales, considering only hikki and/or koda were able too surpass 300,000 first week
i think sales will be consistent and reach a million after a few weeks.
but it's the quality of the music, not the sales that matter

Within the Oricon year and for studio albums, you forgot about ayaka and Otsuka Ai.
