September 16 marked the 25th year since my debut.

I could not have gone 25 years without your support, for which I am
eternally grateful.

Today, I would like to write about something that I have carried on my
mind and have decided on the 25th anniversary of my debut.

I, Namie Amuro, would like to take this opportunity to inform all of my
fans of my decision to retire as of September 16, 2018.

I plan to make the last year of my music career meaningful by focusing
my full attention on creating a final album and performing at concerts.

Then, I will welcome the date of September 16, 2018 in the best way I can.

I hope this year will be filled with wonderful memories for me and the
fans together.

Together, let’s make this coming year the best one possible!

On 1 end I'm sad & stunned as Namie was 1 of the 1st few JPop artistes I started listening to

On the other end , I can understand because doing this for 25 years , it's really not easy & perhaps Namie feels it's time to take a bow when she's still in demand

That probably explains why there's still no new album after she put out _genic but I still didn't expect this

I can imagine already how difficult it will be to get tickets to her upcoming final tour :x

I've still in shock. On one hand she's been hinting that she might retire one day soon, yet on the other hand, she's been so active the past few years, I've taken it for granted that she'd keep working.

As a long-time fan who lives in Japan indirectly because of Namie's influence, I don't even know what to think.

It's the end of an era. 2018 will be 10th year as a fan of Namie so it's very bittersweet got me.

After I read the news, I absolutely want to go see her live on her last tour. Does she have international fan club, how much is the yearly fee of it and is it certain you'll get a ticket from there?

Unfortunately her fan club is lottery, so you're not guaranteed a ticket. For perspective, despite being in her fan club, I didn't win the lottery twice for her tour last year (because I chose Saturday and Sunday dates).

baidu lists a best album to be released November 8th, 2017. It's titled "ALL TIME BEST album".

I'm shocked with the news! I didn't believe the rumors because I thought they were unfounded but I guess not.

She's a big name in the J-pop history and I love her music so I'm going to miss her but I understand and respect her decision.

But maybe this best will be everything up to Just You & I, with Hope and Showtime in there as well, and then we'll get a final all original album similar to _genic to promote the tour?

Definitely hope I can get tickets this time around. I really want to see her live at least once, but I never thought my final chance to would come so soon.

I think she's going to release an original album, as well, even if she does release a best first. She'll probably include all singles on the best, and then release an original album with no singles attached to it. That's my guess, at least.
