Don't be so ignorant. Unless you have work as hard as Ayumi, don't bother to talk about her like that. You don't know the kind of hardship that she been through...if you don't like her, why bother being on this forum?

is telling ayumi to take a break offensive? maybe held concerts in forum halls instead of arenas bashing? be more less-profile, less appearances/lives hurting ppl here? from what i see ppl here are the one that are offensive to me saying 'hope u become deaf in one ear urself, hope namie become deaf' ... after all these i dun even say anything bad back to them and i'm the one with attitude problem.. i think anything i'm to comment are wrong since i'm marked as a sore-eye, then seriously i dun really care at all... back to topic: hope ayumi finds a way to resume hearing from her left ear, there's a way to do that and i don't think it should be a excuse for any bad-standard performance in the future ...even ayumi said it herself, 'she is a professional singer and will not give excuses for her future performances' and i'll take that words and i want to see better performances from the future so i can buy a DVD from her ![]() [QUOTE=blahh;1288455if you don't like her, why bother being on this forum?[/QUOTE] i was in this forum WAY back in 2003 ...cuz i'm a hard-core ayumi fans i explained it like 10x already! >_< |

That's a pretty extreme example. I think what the other posters are trying to express is that Ayu's career has become an integral part of her life and perhaps that's something she is unwilling to give up or even take a break from despite health issues. We all know she's a workaholic but at the same time I think this hearing situation was a big wake up call and from now on she will take better care of herself. I think a lot of people would prefer that she focuses on her health and take a break but in reality she has said she's going to continue working so really there's nothing to do other than support her decision and hope that she'll pay more attention to her health.

Y'know I remember on one of the ayuready episodes, she was with Kyoko Fukada. Ayu said to Kyoko that it's important to take care of oneself. So, I think she knows.

i think you should be a bit more careful when you word your posts. just a suggestion though! your antagonists like truehappiness are overreacting too, its jus some advice in case you want to try avoiding this forum drama in the future ![]() back to topic: yep as i also stated before, shouldn't rule out the possibility that hearing in that one ear will return. she continues on with her career because she doesn't give up hope

Aw, I thought it was just a bad rumor
Now I understand the reason for her performance in CDL 07-08. What caused her to lose hearing? The loud music while performing, or is it some health condition?? Such sad news.

most likely some other health condition: only one ear affected and she's still working with noise.

Poor Ayu.. her health should come first.
I wonder if performing concerts hurts her ears because they are so loud? I know the artists wear ear monitors, but that can't block out ALL the noise. Concerts are SO LOUD that I bet it really hurts your ears after a while. |

I found this on jpopsuki. It was supposedly posted on 01-05-2008 on her teamayu blog:
================== Japanese popstar, Ayumi Hamasaki has recently announced on her fanclub blog, TeamAyu, that she is now deaf in her left ear as a result of almost ten years of performing. Here is a translation of her blog entry: I have a wild aspiration this year. Last year, I went for an ear inspection and found out that my left ear has completely gone deaf. It's confirmed that there's neither therapy or cure for it. Despite this news, I still wish to be a singer. I'm going to persevere and keep on singing even if it's going to take my right ear's ability to hear away too. I'm not going to give up. I'm not going to find any excuses. As a professional singer, I will definitely deliver my best vocals and performance to everybody. I'm going to do my best! J don't like it this way either. I'm going to do my best! Definitely! Until that day comes... This is shocking and sadden news for Ayumi. To know that her left ear is completely deaf, she still strive to keep on singing. Translation by HiruNoKaze: Umm... No.205 January 5th, 2008 (Saturday) 1:13am The volume of messages from you all is amazing, I decided to post again.* "Mhmm" ... "Hey," ... "Yea..." I have always, as much as I can, meant to keep honestly conveying my own feelings with my own words. I think you all definitely understand this. Yes...right, I believe. That's why...I write. I write things I keep only in my heart, not even telling my beloved family members nor my staff. Actually, no...strictly speaking, that's not true. I only told Mama (I mean Mika John). That my left ear cannot hear anymore. I thought of going to the hospital because I felt distinctly that something strange happened to my ear. I thought it was the earphone monitors and told the people around me I wanted to switch to new ones. Honestly, when the doctor told me that there is no treatment and that it's too late, my mind went blank. In my heart somewhere, I felt that if I just make the time necessary for surgery, my ear would be able to hear again. But I was wrong. I remember the doctor's eyes even now. They looked regretful and apologetic. As if to say I'm sorry there's nothing we can do... So, I laughed. I didn't know why, but I said "I thought so", and laughed. Surrounded by my beloved staff inside the hospital room, everything returned to silence. But, please, I don't want you to read this with pessimism. I have accepted this reality. And, I want you to understand somehow that I'm not despairing, but that the light of my hopes shines forth. Because, you've told me that you will become my left ear. You've told me that, so that I'll be able to hear more and more, you'll shout out for me. Hey... So, with my remaining right ear, I'm gonna do this. I'm not at all straining myself. To me, it's my happiness. Worrying is useless!!!!!!!!!!! From here on, I going to keeping running forward like this~~~~~!!! But, let's keep running together~~~~~~!!!!!! I want to show you my dreams. Unending, unfading. I want to show you that kind of dream. That is my wish. Thank you, everyone, everyone, everyone... Thank you, Mama. Thank you, My beloved big sister. Let's do it, 10th year anniversary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ===================== Source: http://mullemeck.serveftp.org/jps_be...ic.php?t=81749 Last edited by 4nGeLuS; 6th January 2008 at 05:26 PM. |

Just about everything that's happened to her health-wise fits the diagnosis. o_o She's fallen at least once every so often during concert rehearsals.. [to my knowledge.. and not by "tripping" or anything either] I remember AT06 had some sort of injury, and AT07 did as well.. Her behaviour during the AT05 [or was it AT06] makings with the weird falling over.. kinda concerned me as well. There was a segment that poked fun at "stumbling" and it seemed as if Ayu would move her head to the left, and then almost fall over.. I have GIFs. ![]() ![]() Quote:
