He was probably referred to her from a mutual friend or something. (Somehow, I bet Go-mi, hahahaha. No, seriously.)
He has been working in Japan for a while though as a 'talent'. I think I saw him on NHK World's imagine-nation when he was a part of that program. Surprisingly, he was in Ryomaden, the 2010 taiga drama, as a foreigner! I think if someone asks him about how he met Ayu, he'd tell you how it happened.
