Ayu to appear on FNS festival on August 8

Did anyone else notice her entourage of backing vocalists now (around 4 of them), which includes Timmy?

Although Ayu's vocals started out quite flat in the beginning, I'm glad she brought her usual energy to the performance.

I do kind of wish she would tone down the "JUMP JUMP JUMP SAAAAY" kind of thing she usually does during encores of concerts. IIRC, she didn't do that for a while until like... 2009-2010 when she stopped performing regularly on TV.

i agree. i'm sure if you're there in the moment it helps build up hype, but otherwise i really don't enjoy it much.

the performance was fun though, lots of energy!

the outfit on the other hand was one of her ugliest ever, haha!

still, i'm so glad to see her on TV! please ayu, give us more TV performances!

Wow! This performance was really great. Best TV performance in years! The thing I love the most is how much fun she's having. And her voice is really good. It made Greatful Days more bearable.

@ truehappiness - I agree with you on that! For some reason, I felt like she's always been doing that in her a-nation appearances since '06, but maybe I'm just mashing them all up together now. As an aside, lthough she changes some songs to cue the audience to sing along for example with Boys & Girls, sometimes I wish she'd just sing it normally lol.

I read the comments before watching and originally I agreed with everyone who were saying "It has been 10 years since xx song was released, give her a break" and talking about the negativity and complaints regarding her voice and how it's exaggerated. And then I watched the performance...

I don't know why, but I was kinda embarrassed for her watching that. She looked great, I loved the whole look but the performance... it wasn't awful but for a somewhat ~comeback~ to TV lives, it was extremely.. underwhelming I guess

Well, watched it just now.

Her vocals are impressevily good, she looks awesomely fresh and bright, the perfomance was much fun. Enjoyed it a lot.

So, I can't see any possible complaints at all.

I thought her performance was pretty good for an artist that has been touring since April. Her voice isn't at its prime at the moment. The only thing I thought was truly negative was her outfit; its like 2010 Rihanna-esque. :/

The outfit looked like the one she wears at cdl11-12/AT12, at least the top bit. It wasn't a bad performance to me, but I can understand why non die-hard Ayu fans would find it less than appealing.

Watching it in higher quality. This is one of her best vocal performances on TV, yes, ever. Clear, controlled and dynamic vocals, on spot especially when she isn't moving much and that for two seriously hard songs, especially You & Me. It's interesting how much audio quality can distort vocal quality even with such good vocals.

her vocal was great,You & Me is a pretty hard song to sing it live,and glad she didnt use her nasal voice for Greatful Days, my ears enjoy it more haha

Not a huge fan of the outfit but I'm just not a neon fan and it did go with the feel of the performance. And with a performance that good I can totally overlook the outfit! If Ayu does fewer lives but they are all this good then I don't mind!

When I watched You & Me, I thought how nice! She's only bringing a couple of her dancers and not her whole posse.

And then Greatful Days started and all the dancers came running out hahahahhaha.
