And the rest is a opinion.. I, for example, am really liking all the results of Ayu collabs with Timmy, and enjoyed everything music-related she did with Leslie.
It's not homophobic as much as it's stereotypical. But some of those stereotypes are true, still it doesn't make NaNaNa sound any less the way he described it. I didn't bold the parts saying I didn't like her works with Timmy. Nevertheless every thing she's done with Kee during the last few years was pretty much terrible, but that's also the matter of taste.

Do I like Ayu's new stuff? Of course I do. Do I think it's better than the old stuff. Not a chance. Still Love songs is among her best studio albums so far, but there is something that her pre-Memorial Address albums had that is kinda gone and it's something I find I miss quite often. And yes some of her newer songs do come off as a bit "forced". She has had so many gems on each and every one of her studio albums and I do understand that she has grown both as a person and as an artist and with that came certain changes, but I think she was more involved with her music a few years back. As she gained stuff she seemingly also lost some a long the way which is normal I guess.

It simply felt she was more creative when it came to her PVs, pictures and at times even music back at the golden days. Now I am not sure if that's really a fact, but it sure looks like one to me. Her pre-MA covers really rocked and were more than just beauty shots, now the closest thing we've got was Party Queen which wasn't that great of a concept imo.

And the fact that Timmy has a musical background means NOTHING. There are great musicians who cant even read notes and have composed whole operas (like Vangelis). It's the talent that matters in music. Most rock musicians have no musical background whatsoever...
I don't care if someone had 20 years of experience on classical music and composing if the outcome is ridicilous and crappy.

I didnt take it as homophobic. Necessarily...

But I think that it's an idea that's deeply rooted in gay culture.

And the song...does appeal to the ideas and valued of this subset of people.

That's not a bad thing, but of course, whenever you do that, you might alienate others...even if indirectly, or thats not what you wanted.

You never know how people are going to react to things. It doesnt HAVE to be this way, but some people dont like it, and some people dont find it necessary.

Im personally...I mean shake it was kinda bleh, but hbya was better I think, at conveying these values to japanese society....which IS important considering how homosexuality is treated there.

whatever...thats my 50 cents about it.

Maybe you can consider I am.. a very generic album, but is one of my favourites and is better than any song composed by the master Timmy (except BRILLANTE maybe,IMO)

I was being a bit hyperbolic, but I'm just calling it as I see it. Sorry if I offended anybody.

Since this thread is on the subject of tours... To what extent do you guys think Ayu creates songs and albums specifically with the tour in mind?

A quick note, your statements were not homophobic, harsh, yes, but not homophobic.

As for the thour question I have thought about this for a very long time and listening to some of her albums and then watching her tours I get the feeling she makes albums so she can tour... if that makes sense.
I mean just album seems like she places the tracks as if it were in tour format (all the newer stuff anyways.)
Rock n Roll, Love songs, Party Queen... I can just see the tour unfold as I listen to the album.

It was homophobic as you was linking non-heteronormative homossexuals to something negative and inferior. It's too damn easy to respect the different if they simply act and live on the same way "normal people" do... homossexuals who act the way men and women "should" aren't the ones suffering with prejudice everyday of their lifes... The "effeminate" ones (and really, as if there weren't hedonistic straight people listening to flat dance music too). When you use them to justify something being bad or inferior, you are implying those characteristics are innerent to them.

But oh well... you wasn't intented to offend anyone, so, I guess this is good... just be careful to not reiforce negative ideas about minnorities... sometimes we do it without even noticing.

I find it a shame that [WARNING:OPINIONS] a tour this mediocre [/OPINIONS] gets a very long run

Of course you can discuss what you want. But there is a thread for Party Queen discussion, or maybe make a thread for general album discussion.
Here it is just off topic. Always I look in here I just read the first new post and skip all others...

Ok, I know I'm part of the arguing group, but I have to agree here... I can't even take the threads apart cuz they all are pretty much the same drama now, what is tiring, unecessary, and screws the forum organization... Let's open the obrigatory monthly "Why Ayu sux now" thread as we use to do and leave the rest of the forum for their subjects.

That's actually a good idea.

We should open some kind of permanent thread for complaints or opinions; a thread for those who want to discuss that kind of stuff. And leave the news threads for actual news. I bet you the news threads won't go by as quickly LOL.

Did you just get here? lol

That won't change anything.

People talk. They descend into different conversations.

If you guys don't like it, try to steer the conversation back on topic

It's really that simple. If people keep spamming/fighting, report them. Most of the time, people will stop chatting about nothing if someone steps in and is like "okay lets get back to ___________" and starts talking about it.

I think we do need a thread for her pictures. And maybe a Timmy thread, but I thought we already had one.

Actually, even though I was getting a little "what thread am I in"...I was happy that people were actually discussing for the most part...wasn't really fighting anywhere. It's nice.
