So im just curious bout this as all know,did Ayu use any hearing aid for her left ear? i always imagine how is it difficult to listen and communicate with others just with one ear plus,Ayu is always meeting her fans,her staffs and she got to communicate with them,the worse is when the fans all screaming and shouting her name when they meet her. sometimes its really pitty for her

She's just using her right ear; there's been no sightings of a hearing aid, and her right ear works relatively well.

As Ayu has said before, she cannot hear at all in her left ear anymore, so there is no real reason for her to use a hearing aid.

I wonder why she won't get surgury for it, there is in fact a surgury that is occationally given to those who are deaf so they could hear again. I'm not sure about elgiability though...

There are plenty of cases thare inoperable; Ayu has stated, as far as I know, that there's no going back with this, it can't be fixed.

maybe she didnt feel comfortable if she just wearing it for one ear only,you know, same if you just put in your earphone in just one ear while the other one not

specially in the MC part sometimes she just put in ear plug for her right ear,or when she want to introduce her band members and dancers,or when they're talking,i wonder why she still put in the ear plug sometimes when she's not singing

For momentary announcements, like introducing band members during/after SURREAL or Boys&Girls, she doesn't need to take both headphones out; one is enough, its just a matter of being able to hear yourself speak. Even if you put on those regular headphones, the kind that go right in your ear that you can listen to music with, if you speak while they're in your ear you feel your words numbed out. It's a strange feeling so most people take it out.

As for why she probably wears it in her left ear anyway, it's most likely to block out the loud sound to keep it from irritating her ear.

^yes, sadly it's completely deaf, ayu admitted it when Secret was release. She had a long post in TA and it's very sad, i cried reading that, i can't imagine how ayu survive when she's starting to hear lesser and lesser, then finally knowing that it can't be cured.

It is a very scary thing to feel like you're losing your hearing. I've had near temporary hearing loss in both of my ears before. One morning I woke up and both of my ears were numb and felt clogged. When I heard myself or others speak, it sounded muffled and everything was at a lowered volume. I've always had very good hearing so I cried when it first happened because I seriously thought I was going to go deaf as I had never experienced that in my life. My hearing went in and out for months and then my left ear went back to normal (my hearing never went out again in that ear) while the hearing in my right ear was still going in and out. I literally just got my hearing back in my right ear a couple of days ago and I haven't had any problems since. My allergies were getting bad a couple of days ago so I took some vitamins that help with allergies and that fixed my hearing. It was very strange to me because I would have never thought that my allergies would have had anything to do with it. But I guess because issues with your nose, ears, and throat can be all be related, it is possible. Thank God that it was temporary because I would have been devastated if I was in Ayumi's shoes. It's one thing to temporarily not be able to hear that well but being completely deaf, even in one ear, is terribly sad. When I'd listen to music with my earphones on, it felt like only one earphone was working and it was very strange so I can only imagine how she feels when she's singing and can only hear on one side.

^ i agree with you.thas why i always wonder how she got the strengh to go on with her hectic daily life with her ear condition =.= if it was me,i dont know,i cant imagine it.Plus,like when i go for swimming and when water enter into my ears,it feels so uncomfortable,when i talk feel like the words are in my head >.>

I think it's admirable how well she seems to cope with the loss of her hearing in one of her ears. As a singer, it is so important that you can hear well, especially during concerts and even when she's interacting with fans. Sometimes they say that when you lose a sense, your other senses become stronger so I wonder if she can hear even clearer in her other ear than before. But even still, enhanced hearing doesn't replace an ear. Either way, I just wish the best for her. Maybe she can be an advocate for deafness if she isn't already.

I admire Ayu sooo much She stays strong even when she has lost her left ear *tears up* She's so admirable

I have had a few hearing issues in the past, as I have very sensitive ears, but I could never imagine going completely without my left ear Ayu does; she gets through it all: being able to sing still, going through her daily life, recording music, all of it. She doesn't complain~ She didn't give up. For that, I really do look up to her and admire her very very much
