Now I have a reason to go to Magdeburg.
There's nothing illegal about playing music in a store if you bought it or it is playing on the radio/TV at the moment. |

meh, i say more power to them. you don't know if it's legal or not if you haven't asked them. I think it's fine. tooons of stoers in america play music, not japanese that would be cool, but music none the less, usualy its from a co-worker's ipod or something and it's really just for white noise so you're not walking around a silent store.
and what do you mean by "forbidden"? is it illegal to play japanese music in your country?

i thought that this is illegal to play ayu-music which was not released in germany... so i mean that when they're playing M (Above&Beyond) thats legal and when they're playing HEAVEN x DAISHI DANCE its forbidden... thanx for all your help XD

I would imagine that it's fine. Just because it's not released in Germany, doesn't mean they cannot play it. If they purchased the song or album legally then it's perfectly OK.

Here... I never heard an Ayu-Song in a Shop. Was it a shop, which has something to do with Japan?
I only saw M-Remix on VIVA.. but that's all. I should live in Magdeburg, don'T I? Hahah! |

heh...in one way, it could be seen as a tool for attracting customers...you know...some ayu-freaks to buy some cool clothes.
on the other hand...i thought the copyright notices say that "public performance, borrowing or lending...bla bla bla"...smth like that is prohibited. Isn't it the same as if I buy a Gundam anime DVD from the web and play it on a projector in a pub in Slovakia? I think that might be illegal...i'm not expert for this though. (note: we don't distribute ANY anime in Slovakia)

what would actually be not allow is:
downloading the songs from the net(illegal download), then burn on a disc and play it in a shop. especially if they did not get the music broadcast rights, in singapore here, if any stores wants to play music in their shops, they have to apply for a lisense to do that, or they will get a fine. but honestly, no ones will know whether the song is gotten legal or not.

^ Exactly. I remember a store in my local Japantown that used to play JPOP CD's that they burned. It included artists such as Hikki and some others I don't remember of. I don't ever recall hearing Ayu there though.
