Also, people seem to be under the impression that the top 5 you pick are ranked - they aren't necessarily. Pretty much everything is an equal vote. On the show, there is no "winner" or anything like that.

Well, it's basically the same for any of these kinds of shows - it all boils down simply to who is available to perform. For example, do you see SMAP, Mr. Children, B'Z, Southern All Stars etc., performing on this show every year? Nope. But I think most people know that all of those groups would have certainly gotten enough votes in at least one of the categories. I see it really more as just a fun thing to vote for.

I think this is what they use to tabulate the percentages of fans that "requested"/voted for the artists when they pop up on stage if they end up appearing on the show.

Ayu's tend to be quite high and get gold stars on the 20s and older age groups, haha.

^ Me too, even though technically she is from last year. There really was a drought of new talent this year imo.

I can't remember what songs I wrote, but for artists I put Ayu, Namie, Arashi, Morning Musume, L'arc en Ciel. And for the special performances thing I put hit medleys from Arashi, Namie, and Ayumi.
