I didn't know this before, but apparently PECO did the choreography for the Ghibli film, Gake no ue no Ponyo's (Ponyo on a Cliff) theme song.

really? surprising to know ayu has relatives, she gives the impression she lives on her own from birth

Peco is a famous choreographer. She choreographed Ayu Concerts before joining on stage as a bg singer. At least it looks like it, for example, in the Stadium Tour 2002 she is talking with Ayu about the concert from the stands. She is also behind the Mori Mori Dance, which is THE dance from last year:



I think she probably left because she is very sought after now and more succesful in other things than singing bg vocals for Ayu.

Yep, I knew of her as a big choreographer at the time before she started doing backup vocals. Good for her for getting ~famous~ on her own.

I've always been kind of surprised at how long her band has stayed with her. It must be a tiring schedule/tiring for the body/joint problems to do like 30+ concerts a year along with rehearsals. It'd be tough to do for 10 years!

Ayu, Yo-chan and Enrique grew up together! lol
I think they consider each other as a family, because they spent a lot of time together: travels, rehearsals, concerts and TV performances. I remember Yo-chan words in CDL 07~08 during the MC section:
"Ayu, I will continue to support you, so I hope we can keep going together."

Actually, that's why I posted this topic... Go-mi, Chisa, Eguchi and Peco worked with Ayu for a long time, and maybe there could be a convincing reason for they to leave...
But you've already answered... some of them are dedicating to other projects.

Anyway, it's bittersweet to know some of the most well-known/best loved members of Ayu's crew has left. Go-Mi was my favorite dancer - he's so good and has so much personality when he performs!
